Horse dies in Angus farm fire

An Angus stable fire that killed a horse on Saturday is not being treated as suspicious.

Crews were called to Bonnyton Farm near Montrose at around 12.35pm.

Two appliances from Brechin attended and a third unit was requested when firefighters saw the blaze had spread to the roof.

The farmer had made an attempt to rescue the horse but he was unable to save the animal.
