45,000 bees stolen from woods in Angus

Police are investigating after bees were stolen from a wooded area in Angus.

The theft took place at Craichie by Forfar between March 29 and April 20.

Three queen bees and approximately 45,000 working bees along with three honeycomb frames were taken.

Officers say whoever has moved the bees would have to have specialist knowledge of handling the them.

Police are urging anyone with any information that may be useful to contact Tayside Division on 101, or speak to any officer.
