They were caught out by the tide near Scurdie Ness, with one of the women also suffering what is understood to be a minor head injury after falling. Montrose lifeboat was also called out as part of the operation, sparked by a 999 call from the stranded pair around 4.30pm. They were eventually led off the rocks by the coastguard team. An ambulance was waiting for paramedics to attend to the injured woman, but she is not believed to be seriously injured. The crews returned to station around 6pm.
