Parents pay tribute to ‘kind and caring’ son Grant Kennedy

Parents of a Montrose man who has lost his long battle with illness aged just 31 have paid tribute to their “caring” son.
Grant Kennedy suffered from an auto-immune disease as well as a kidney condition and heart problems and has been described by his parents Anne and Neil as a quiet, lovely and kind person.
A former pupil at Montrose Academy before going on to study horticulture at Angus College, Mr Kennedy worked as a gardener at Dorward House in Montrose.
In 2001, aged just 21, he was diagnosed with the difficulties which eventually led to him taking up a less physically strenuous role as a sales assistant with motor parts firm D & A Factors in Montrose.
But his parents said that despite his illness, Mr Kennedy adapted and continued to enjoy life.
Anne said: “He loved his music. Everything from folk to heavy German rock and he played a bit of guitar.
“He was also a member of the Montrose Model Aircraft Club.”
Neil added: “He didn’t see his illness as an illness.
“He was kind and generous and he bought the most thoughtful Christmas presents. He was everything to us.”
