An Angus man has apologised for the damage caused when his car crashed into a garden this week.
Lewis McMartin, 28, was driving home at about 7.30am on Tuesday when his Peugeot 207 left the A932 near Forfar Golf Club.
The blue car aquaplaned while going round a tight corner and swerved off the road, crashing through a fence before landing on its side in Angela Hill’s garden.
She rushed outside with a neighbour to find Mr McMartin trapped in the vehicle and called the emergency services.
The Arbroath man was taken to Ninewells Hospital, but was later released with just cuts and bruises.
He said: “I just want to say sorry for crashing into their garden and a huge thank you to them for calling the emergency services.
“Having looked at photos of the car I think I’ve been a very lucky chap.”
Mrs Hill, 59, said: “The driver was in shock his only worry was his car but I said cars can be replaced, people can’t.
“I know how bad the corner is because I drive here all the time.”
