The Angus girl who was found unconscious in a Spanish swimming pool could be moved to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee in the next fortnight.
Four-year-old Cally Simpson has been fighting for her life since tragedy struck at the Villa Marina resort in Salou on June 23.
She was moved to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh last month.
There she has recently undergone a successful operation to insert a baclofen pump, which will administer drugs direct to her cerebrospinal fluid which is found in the brain and spine.
In the latest update, on the Saving Cally Simpson Facebook page, parents Steven and mum Kate Miller said they were pleased with her progress.
They wrote: “Her operation was a brilliant success. We see big changes already. She is looking loads better and it’s healing better than expected.
“Also we are hoping to be moved to Ninewells Hospital next week or the week after as she is doing so well, which is closer to home for friends and family to visit.
“She has one more surgical procedure to have this week which is to put a wee incision into her abdomen for a feed tube.
“This is so there is no risk of her aspirating milk up and back down into her lungs.”
A community campaign to raise funds for the youngster has raised thousands of pounds.
