The family of an Angus man who was found dead at a friend’s house have paid tribute to their “gentle souled” son.
Ross McGill, 33, died suddenly at a flat in Ferrier Street, Carnoustie, on Friday.
Mr McGill was described by his mother, Helen McGill, as a happy person but someone who struggled with life.
She said: “It’s been a complete shock to us. He seemed to be so happy and cheerful.
“One of our friends summed him up perfectly by saying he was a gentle soul who found life tough to cope with, but they will remember him with love in their hearts.”
Helen said the presence of her new partner George Gilmour had helped Mr McGill in recent months and the family lived together with his 30-year-old brother David.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended an address in Ferrier Street, Carnoustie, following a report of the sudden death of a 33-year-old man.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
