An Arbroath woman has her sights set on a £10,000 prize as the UK’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Already honoured as the over sixties category winner in the ‘Oscars of the glasses world’, Marjorie Johnston will now travel to the grand final in London next month to find out if she has won the huge cash prize and a luxury holiday in the Bahamas.
Retired care home manager Marjorie said: “When I got the call to tell me I had won the 60+ category I just couldn’t believe it, I really didn’t expect to get that far at all.
“The event will be an amazing experience, I am incredibly lucky just to be there and be part of it.
“I have never been to anything so grand and getting to meet Gok Wan will be brilliant.”
Cat Black, pre-reg dispensing optician at Specsavers in Arbroath said: “The store is thrilled for Marjorie she is a lovely woman who thoroughly deserves this recognition.
“She always looks fantastic in her glasses.”
