Police in Portugal are looking for an Angus man who has gone missing in the town of Lagos.
Jon Anderson Edwards, 31, had been living and working in the city, which has a population of 22,000, for only a week before his disappearance.
He disappeared from his apartment on September 15, leaving his belongings including his passport and mobile phone behind.
His family and friends are “desperate” for information that could lead to his location.
A joint police investigation involving the Lagos PSP, who have confirmed the case, the Polcia Judiciria and the GNR, is under way, while family members and friends are desperately calling for any kind of information that could lead to Jon’s safe return.
Jon’s mother Lesley Edwards says she is extremely worried about her son and will fly to Portugal at the weekend.
Speaking to local English language newspaper The Resident, she said: “I don’t know what could have happened.
“We had been speaking through social media networks as he had only been over there for a week. “I’ve been told he hit his head the day before he disappeared so I don’t know what state of mind he was in when he went missing.”
Jon had been working at the Rockfood caf in Lagos.
