Pensioner John Sangster dies of injuries after accident in Montrose

Police have confirmed that the 79-year-old pedestrian involved in a collision in Montrose’s Baltic Street at about 1pm on Saturday has died.

John Sangster who was from Montrose and known locally as Gordon died of his injuries at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, on Tuesday night.

Tayside Police said inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and appealed for anyone with information that could assist officers with their inquiries to call 0300 111 2222.

As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
