After last years monsoon conditions, glorious sunshine marked the return of Carnoustie Gala Day on July 6. The Wild West-themed event kicked off with the traditional float parade from the Panmure Industrial Estate to the grounds of Carnoustie House. The entertainment included a dog display by the Tayside Road Runners, the Fiona Forbes School of Dance, Danscentre and the Zuglu Drumming Band. There was also a wrestling demonstration, bonnie babies contest, dog show and music. The Gala Day also hosted Carnousties first-ever Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association branch pipe band competition. Meanwhile, a youth versus uniforms challenge saw gala-goers attempt to reach a cumulative 5,000 keepie-ups over the course of the day. The couple who achieved the longest rally without letting the shuttle drop were crowned champions.
