Company behind Brechin development seeking public’s views

Plans for a major Angus development could involve a new supermarket and petrol station in an Angus burgh.
A 30-acre “gateway development” for Brechin has been proposed by Dalhousie Estates.
The firm has claimed the site, on land next to Brechin Business Park and Brechin Castle Garden Centre, will improve tourism, recreation and employment opportunities.
The company already owns land around Brechin and a spokesman said it wants ideas from residents about what to include in the development.
He said: “Project testing over the past 12 months has identified the site has the potential for a mixed-use development, which could comprise a number of different elements, including a small supermarket, petrol station, care home, hotel, restaurant, community parkland and recreation space.”
Dalhousie Estates will hold a public exhibition of initial proposals at the Mechanics Institute, Brechin, between 1pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday.
