A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal in the wake of two alleged Angus dog attacks.
The move follows the seizure of a group of young bull terrier-type animals from the home of a Brechin woman last month.
The Courier understands the animals have not been returned to pensioner Fiona Borders, who handed over four of her pets to police following an incident near Wards Park in the town in which a 78-year-old man suffered a hand injury.
Ms Borders, who is 76, previously admitted the group of young Staffordshire cross-breeds had run to the man and said they became over-excited after he started shouting at them.
The victim had been out walking his own dog at the time of the February 12 incident.
In the wake of the attack police made an appeal for information following another incident a week earlier involving a Montrose man who was also surrounded by four “out of control” Staffie-type dogs a woman had been walking.
Jim Davidson was walking springer spaniel Reuben on the town’s Links when the four other dogs went for his frightened pet.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a report in relation to the matter has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
