Angus fundraiser at the halfway mark in 6,500-mile challenge

Veteran Angus walker Bobby Campbell has passed another milestone in his latest marathon challenge.
The Edzell fundraiser has passed the half-way mark in his bid to cover 6,500 miles by tackling a daily trek along the road leading from the village to Brechin.
Bobby began the fundraiser for Poppy Scotland at the beginning of September 2012 and although there have been a couple of setbacks along the way, he remains determined to complete the second half of the task.
Doctors advised him to rest up for a spell after he suffered a painful foot injury, but for the past few months he has once again been a familiar sight on the Edzell straight.
“I’ve got two ceramic hips and what I do now is use walking poles I wouldn’t go without them and I’m feeling good,” said Bobby.
“I started off doing eight miles a day, but have cut it down to seven now,” he added.
