Man fined for making rude gesture to girls in Arbroath
ByThe Courier Reporter
A man has been fined £200 by an Arbroath sheriff after admitting a breach of the peace.
Sheriff Gregor Murray said he had determined there was no significant sexual element to Loi Yau Li’s conduct.
Loi, 64, of High Street, Arbroath, admitted conducting himself in a disorderly manner towards two 14-year-old girls on a street in the town on September 9.
The court previously heard he simulated masturbation towards them after the girls had blown him kisses. Solicitor Sandra Sutherland said he had been to the pub and her client’s position was that it was a cheeky gesture.
