Arbroath Infirmary radiology room’s £130,000 revamp under way
ByGraham Brown
Arbroath Infirmary’s radiology room is undergoing a £130,000 refurbishment programme.
New equipment being installed in the facility will give higher quality images, and with building work and equipment installation now under way there will be a partial service from now to mid-April.
There will be no change to the minor injuries service or the ultrasound service. All inpatients will be x-rayed as usual at Arbroath.
A mobile x-ray service is being provided and will carry out examinations for patients requiring x-rays for chest, hands, shoulders, feet and knees.
Patients requiring hip, pelvis, spine or abdomen x-rays during this period can attend Stracathro Hospital or Dundee’s Ninewells and Kings Cross hospitals.
A GP open access service is also provided at these sites.
Dr Gavin Main, consultant radiologist with NHS Tayside, said: “This positive investment in Arbroath Infirmary will improve patient experience and therefore we thank the local community for their cooperation at this time.”
For help and advice about where to attend, patients can call (01241) 822524 or Dundee (01382) 596968.
