Family want to thank man who came to girls’ aid after Craichie crash

An Angus woman wants to thank a Good Samaritan who helped her relatives after they were involved in a car crash.
Two girls were hurt in an incident near Forfar on Saturday afternoon.
The 11 and 16-year-old were treated at the scene on the B9128 near Craichie for what police described as minor injuries following a collision between a Toyota Hilux and a silver Vauxhall Astra.
Arbroath resident Anne Elsender, 56, said her cousin Robert Mills had been driving the Astra with his wife, and his daughters had both been more badly hurt than first thought.
And she is looking for a local man who offered a small piece of comfort in the aftermath of the incident.
“Someone who was staying in a bungalow nearby came along to see if everyone was all right and gave him his jacket,” she said.
“It’s a big black one and it has a few pens in it but no ID. I had a look through it and couldn’t find any.
“I’d like to give the jacket back and thank the man for his kindness.”
The 11-year-old sustained neck and back injuries and the 16-year-old had hip injuries.
Mrs Elsender can be contacted through The Courier’s Arbroath office on 01382 575891 or by email to angus@thecourier.co.uk.
