The World Hickory Open will return to Angus for the third time later this year.
The tournament will be played on the links course at Panmure, on the outskirts of Carnoustie, on October 7 and 8. The tournament uses hickory golf clubs almost identical to those favoured by golfers a century or more ago.
Tournament director Lionel Freedman said: “The Carnoustie Country courses have a fabulous golfing history which complements hickory golf perfectly.
“The golfers who travel from across the globe to compete really appreciate being able to play golf as the game was played in days gone by on such historic courses.”
The tournament is open to amateurs and professionals. Entry costs £240 per golfer. This includes the warm-up competition at Forfar Golf Club, two rounds on Panmure Medal, hire of clubs and the gala prizegiving dinner.
A hickory tournament with a Ryder Cup-style format between Team USA and the Rest of the World will take place on October 9 and 10 at Monifieth Medal.
