Angus South MSP Graham Dey officially opened Angus Folk Museum on Saturday as the Glamis heritage attraction reopened for the 2014 visitor season.
The museum has been closed since May last year as a precautionary measure after a check on the Kirkwynd building suggested roof tiles had loosened.
The repairs proved more difficult than first thought. New safety measures include the installation of new slate catchers.
The museum, which is housed in six 18th-century cottages, contains artefacts and displays depicting more than 200 years of rural life in Angus.
It will be open on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 11.30am until 4.30pm. From June 30 it will be open from Thursday until Monday from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
