NHS Tayside unable to say when Montrose Infirmary might reopen
ByGraeme Strachan
Tayside health chiefs have been unable to give assurances that Montrose Infirmary will be reopened any time soon.
The infirmary was closed nearly three weeks ago and a number of environmental issues have arisen following the failure of the heating and water systems.
These include a soot-like substance being blown through the air filter system and operational problems with the water supply.
NHS Tayside said “efforts continue to deal with a number of patient safety concerns.”
And nurse director Dr Margaret McGuire told The Courier the complexities of the systems which have been damaged mean “it is currently difficult for us to identify a date for reopening.”
