A man who assaulted another man outside an Angus nightclub last year will be sentenced in July.
Luke Falcon, 31, from Barry, South Glamorgan, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday over the assault outside DeVitos Nightclub in Arbroath.
Falcon admitted punching him so hard he fell to the ground and was severely injured.
Falcon faced an indictment alleging that on July 6 last year, at 15 Millgate, he assaulted Alexander Cuthill, punched him on the face and knocked him to the ground to his severe injury.
Depute fiscal Hannah Kennedy moved for sentence and provided a victim impact statement.
Falcon’s defence agent said: “What I can say on behalf of this young man is that he is a genuine first offender. As such, he is very remorseful and apologises to the court.”
Sheriff Valerie Johnson said: “I’m not going to pass sentence today. It will be dealt with in Glamorgan so it will be local to you.”
Sentence was deferred until July 17 for the preparation of criminal justice social work reports and bail was continued.
