Canter banter Angus police find their own Horse Whisperer
ByGraeme Strachan
A case of escaped horses in Forfar was “neigh bother” to two quick-thinking local bobbies last night.
PC Scott Anderson and PC Ally Smith showed that a community cop’s work can be extremely varied on a daily basis.
The quick-thinking cops made sure it wasn’t an unbridled disaster when three horses escaped from a nearby field.
PC Smith soon found the horses on a dirt track in the woods and PC Anderson tweeted the good news.
That sparked a flurry of horse puns from his Tayside colleagues with PC Smith dubbed “The Horse Whisperer.”
“Horses returned to their field. Cue the jokes!!!” said PC Anderson.
Angus commander Gordon Milne also joined in the fun, replying: “PC Smith is #anguspolis new mounted branch officer in charge of breeding and discovering new talent.”
PC Smith’s lack of hat in the picture also saw him take some fun abuse from Arbroath community police officer Darren Burnett.
He tweeted: “Has one of the horses ate his hat. Lol. #standards.”
With the horses safely back home, the hero PC’s quickly hoofed it back into town to continue their shifts.
Sugar cubes all round!
