Travellers have turned up at an Arbroath beauty spot.
A year on from a similar small encampment, caravans arrived on Tuesday night at the north end of Victoria Park.
Angus Council is understood to be monitoring the situation.
Last June, Travellers spent around a week at the popular beauty spot, before moving on to another site near the Gayfield Park home of Arbroath FC and then out of the town shortly after.
Meanwhile, an Angus businessman is continuing talks with the local authority and Police Scotland over a large-scale Travellers’ encampment at a disused mill north of the A90 between Forfar and Brechin.
After weeks in place at two sites in Forfar, and twice the subject of court orders for their removal, around 30 caravans moved onto the site of the empty Glen Coul mill, near Tannadice.
The site is owned by Angus firm Guild Homes, whose managing director Mark Guild said that whilst he was unhappy with the Travellers breaking into the site, he wanted to work with the authorities to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
“Whilst this causes huge inconvenience for our company, we also have concerns for the safety and welfare of the Travellers who cannot continue to be chased around the countryside from one location to another, causing upset to them and the neighbours and businesses adjacent to the various locations in which they set up camp.
“With this in mind we are currently focusing on working with both Angus Council and Police Scotland to ensure both the safety and welfare of both Travellers and neighbours.
“Together we hope to achieve both an early and satisfactory resolution for all concerned,” said Mr Guild.
