Queen’s Baton Relay in Angus: follow the action here

Angus will have its day in the sun on Saturday as the Queen’s Baton Relay travels north through the county, starting at Monifieth and finishing with a party in Montrose.
Provost Helen Oswald will welcome the baton from Dundee at 8.21am, with a trio of musicians from the local pipe band sending it off by the Welcome to Angus sign.
Baton bearers will carry the Commonwealth Games icon through the crowds in Carnoustie, Arbroath, Forfar, Glamis, Kirriemuir and Brechin, among other locations.Click here for the full scheduleThe day’s programme includes celebratory events at the new Beechgrove Community Garden in East Haven at 11.18am, a family fun day in Kirriemuir from 11am and a showpiece welcome for the baton at Glamis Castle at 2.46pm.
Celebrations in Montrose begin at 1pm with an It’s A Knockout competition organised by Montrose Emergency Services Group and an evening of music that will run from 4-7.30pm.
