A new mum has heaped praise on a pair of good Samaritans who leapt to her rescue after an Angus car crash.
The two heroes helped Katie Dunn and her 12-week-old daughter from their vehicle after it went off the road near Forfar, leaving the 32-year-old from Brechin shocked and disorientated as other drivers passed by oblivious to her plight.
Katie now hopes The Courier will help her track down the quick-thinking duo who directed police to the scene of the accident and got mum and baby Gabrielle safely out of the car.
“I was just absolutely terrified and I don’t know what would have happened if they hadn’t stopped but I didn’t get the chance to thank them,” said credit controller Katie.
The accident happened in heavy rain on Monday afternoon at a series of bends on the Forfar-Montrose road at Fledymye, resulting in Katie’s car spinning in the road and coming to rest on an embankment.
As several cars passed by, a frantic Katie was attempting to call 999 when the two men in a white van turned around and came back to help her.
“I got through to the police controller but couldn’t even tell them where I was and one of the men took the phone and told them,” she said.
Mother and daughter were thankfully unscathed in the ordeal.
“I’ve never been so grateful to anyone and I just want to let them know how much I appreciate what they did,” said Katie.
