Anger as vandals scrawl swastika on SNP MSP’s office for a second time
ByGraham Brown
An SNP MSP’s office has been targeted by graffiti vandals for the second time in three weeks.
Staff at the Arbroath constituency office of Graeme Dey arrived at the Brothock Bridge premises on Monday morning to discover a swastika scrawled on a glass door as part of an apparent pro-UK slogan.
Police are investigating this latest incident, which follows a similar attack on June 30. The vandalism has been condemned by both sides of the independence debate.
Mr Dey said: “It’s really sad and quite pathetic that people feel the need to behave in this way, but at the same time it’s worth remembering that the vast majority are, on both sides, engaged in the independence debate and are conducting themselves in an appropriate manner.”
A spokesperson for Better Together said: “All vandalism and abuse in the referendum debate is completely unacceptable and should be stopped. We hope that the police find who is responsible and deal with them.”
Police have asked for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 101, or speak to any officer.
