Some of the best players in the world of darts visited Angus this weekend in a Scotland v England stand-off at the oche.
The 480-capacity Reid Hall in Forfar was transformed on Saturday night with a stage, big screens, and big names including current BDO world champion Scott Waites.
Mr Waites was special guest and showed off the Lakeside trophy. Terry “Raging Bull” Jenkins played alongside Premier League star Robert Thornton and two-time world champion Ted “The Count” Hankey.
Hankey was back after suffering a small stroke last year.
He said: “I’m feeling great and it’s nice to be back. This is a special night.”
Arbroath darts player Alan Soutar, Thornton, Ewan Hyslop and John Henderson were representing Scotland on the night while Hankey, Jenkins, Colin “Jaws” Lloyd and Peter “One Dart” Manley made up the England team.
The Scots team were piped on stage and the stars happily mingled with the crowd.
Manley, one of the most recognisable faces on the British darts circuit, said: “It’s been terrific what a great atmosphere.”
During the evening Graeme Hamilton and Danny Willox competed in the Angus Youth Cup final, with Danny taking the title. The evening was organised by exhibition company Behind the Oche.
