Angus animal charity chief in the dock over domestic assault charges
ByThe Courier Reporter
An Angus animal charity chief has been granted bail on a domestic assault charge which will allow him to keep the operation running.
Ian Robb’s solicitor said a special bail condition banning him from the property near Arbroath where Angus Dog Rescue is based would have caused the charity “considerable difficulties”.
Mr Robb appeared from custody before Sheriff Pino Di Emidio at Forfar where he denied behaving in a threatening manner at Nether Newbigging farmhouse, near Arbroath on April 25, repeatedly shouting and threatening his wife, Heather and throwing a telephone at her, striking her on the body.
Depute fiscal Jill Drummond sought special conditions that charity chairman Robb does not approach his wife or enter the property where they live.
Trial was set for August 17.
