Colin Barr of Thrums Vet Group said he treated a puppy that had contracted the highly-contagious viral illness that affects dogs. “The puppy was brought to Angus from another area and I suspect this will be an isolated case for us,” said Mr Barr. “However, it is a timely reminder to dog owners that it is very important to keep their dogs vaccinated against the disease.” The virus causes vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss and lack of appetite.
