Police are investigating the sudden death of a Kirriemuir 21-year-old at a house in a quiet town cul de sac.
The detached property in Court Hillock Gardens had been the subject of intense activity since around midnight on Saturday after police and an ambulance attended there.
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the tragedy in a brief statement on Sunday night.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal,” said the spokesman.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this stage.
The Courier understands an ambulance was called to the property some time after 11pm on Saturday.
Neighbours said they were not aware of any disturbance at the house, which sits in a corner of the development towards the north of the town.
It is believed the house is occupied by a couple who have a young son, possibly in his early 20s.
It was suggested that the couple are currently on holiday.
“I wasn’t aware of anything going on until I saw all the blue lights around the house,” said one resident of the street.
“Since then the police have been there all day.”
A number of vehicles were parked in front of the property.
