Zinio e-lending service introduced in Angus libraries

Angus library customers can now use their library card to borrow e-magazines and e-books online.

The Zinio service will allow library borrowers to read the selection of magazines on their own mobile devices by using their library card.

Council vice-convener of communities Jeanette Gaul said: “Rather than taking a book home and being trusted to return it on time, many people are opting to check out books electronically to read on tablet computers or phones for a limited time.

“There’s no need to return them the book disappears when the time is up.

“This is good news for reading groups or whole communities, who will be able to download the same book at the same time.”
