A trio of Angus senior schools have earned the right to compete in the Scottish final of Rock Challenge.
Arbroath High School and Forfar and Montrose academies take to the stage of Dundee’s Caird Hall on June 12.
Stonehaven’s Mackie Academy and Kinross High School are also in the final 10.
To qualify for the final, a team must win its local heat or be one of the highest-scoring runners-up across all the Scottish heats.
Arbroath, Montrose and Forfar’s success came at qualifying events at the Caird Hall in March.
Arbroath High are the reigning Scottish champions.
In the organisation’s 20th year, 4 Rock Challenge and 2 J Rock events have been held across Scotland and involved more than 2,700 young people between the ages of seven and 18.
George Cooil, chairman of Rock Challenge UK promoters the Be Your Best Foundation, said: “It has been a pleasure to watch such a diverse and high quality range of performances already so far on this year’s tour, and the finals are sure to be exceptional evenings.
“It really is rewarding to see how the youth of today can flourish in a 100% drug, tobacco and alcohol-free environment,” he said.
“Whilst it is great for the finalists to have qualified, every single participant involved in this year’s competition should be really proud of themselves,” he added.
