A man kicked his ex-wife’s car door after he let himself in to her Carnoustie home, a court heard.
Shaun Burke, 37, Whitfield Rise, Dundee, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court and admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in that he entered the locus uninvited, shouted and kicked a car door on Woodside Terrace on May 8.
Depute fiscal Joanne Smith said the complainer and the accused had been married for 14 years and had separated.
Since December last year, Mrs Burke became aware he had access into the former marital home, in which she was staying.
On May 8 she left to go to work in Monifieth at 8.30am and returned at 3.30pm to find him in her house.
She left to get into her car and drive off as he was standing next to the garden gate.
“The accused walked into the roadway and stood trying to flag her down,” she said.
He then kicked the driver’s door.
Sheriff Gregor Murray imposed a community payback order for six months, with 70 hours of unpaid work.
