Arbroath High School pupils triumph at Rock Challenge final

Arbroath High School triumphed at the Scottish final of the Be Your Best Rock Challenge at Dundee’s Caird Hall.
The school was awarded overall first prize and has now qualified to take part in the national final at Milton Keynes Theatre on July 6.
Arbroath High School performed Enchanted and judges said pupils created a multitude of atmospheric moments to captivate the audience.
Fraserburgh Academy were second, Kinross High School were third, Alness Academy were fourth and Forfar Academy were awarded overall fifth place.
Forfar Academy pupils closed the show at the Caird Hall with their eerie adaptation of Hansel and Gretel.
The judges described it as a truly professional performance which captivated the audience from the outset and continued to do so concluding in a “dramatic and intense climax.”
Montrose Academy also took part and swept the audience up in their magical Narnian adventure into the enchanted land through the wardrobe.
Marked on production, design and performance, schools were presented on stage at the end of the evening show with awards in a variety of areas.
