Angus PSP sufferer Keith Swankie gears up for big date at Scottish Parliament
ByThe Courier Reporter
A dying Angus man’s fight to raise awareness of his disease will be acknowledged in the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday.
Glasgow MSP Bob Doris has arranged a parliamentary event to further inform MSPs about PSP after spotting tweets by Keith Swankie from Arbroath.
Mr Swankie has the rare and fatal neurological disease progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
He was diagnosed in April 2012, more than two years after suffering from eye problems, and the life expectancy from onset is thought to be around eight years.
Mr Swankie said: “I’m delighted that Bob Doris has supported this event to bring PSP awareness to MSPs at Holyrood.”
