Couple’s anniversary holiday cancelled after caravan stolen
ByThe Courier Reporter
An Angus couple were left “devastated” when their caravan was stolen weeks before a wedding anniversary holiday.
Wendy and Neil Spink from Montrose cancelled a trip to York and Northwick after their van was taken from a Laurencekirk farmyard.
The Adria Adiva was bought for around £15,000 and was of sentimental value to the couple.
Retail manager Wendy said: “We were planning to get away for 12 days from July 1 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband Neil’s 53rd birthday.
“We’ve been married for five years and Neil bought the caravan about a year before the wedding.
“We’ve spent every summer holiday in it and there are so many memories there.”
It is believed the theft took place in the yard of Clarence Murray Potato Growers and Farmers in Laurencekirk between June 14 and 15.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland is investigating the theft of a caravan from the Market Street area of Laurencekirk. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.”
