Angus man accused of 20-month campaign of fear against woman
ByThe Courier Reporter
An Angus man in his sixties is facing a charge of waging a lengthy fear campaign against a neighbour.
Robert Alexander is accused of actions including peering through the woman’s living room window, following her and parking outside her home over more than 20 months from the beginning of 2013.
Alexander, 64, of Starforth Bothy, Panmure Estate, Carnoustie, is facing a charge under the Criminal Justice and Licensing Scotland Act but was not present at Forfar Sheriff Court when the case called before Sheriff Pino Di Emidio.
It is alleged that between January 1 2013 and September 20 2014, at Panmure Estate, that Alexander engaged in a course of conduct which caused a woman fear and alarm in that he parked his car outside her house and stared at her through her living room window, entered the track outside her home address and stared through her kitchen window.
He is accused of following her on a communal track, holding up a camera and pointing it at her and laughing at her.
The sheriff continued the matter without plea until July 30 for personal service of the complaint to the accused.
