Scotland’s Americana was due to feature horse-shoe throwing, Harley-Davidsons, hot rods and hot dogs in Padanaram near Forfar. But the field just off the A90 turned into a quagmire and “heartbroken” organisers reluctantly pulled the plug on the bash. Localised flooding struck in other parts of the county. The main road in Ferryden was closed and sandbags were put down in Ogilvie Terrace by Angus Council staff and firefighters at lunchtime. Firefighters remained on scene to assist with the clear-up operation after high tides and prolonged rain combined to cause misery.
