Man admits topless Buster’s bust-up after fritter fracas
ByRichard Watt
A topless man who abused chippie staff over fritters before headbutting a shop window has been told to expect a jail sentence.
Richard Morrison from Brechin shouted and swore at Buster’s Chip Shop staff and a pregnant woman only four days after his release from prison.
The 30-year-old appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court and admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the Montrose Street shop on August 8.
The court heard Morrison was ejected from the shop twice before he repeatedly struck the door and windows with his head and legs.
Defending Morrison, solicitor Sarah Russo said her client had not arranged for medications on his release from prison, leading to his behaviour under the influence of alcohol.
Sentence was deferred to September 24 for narrative on an indictment matter but Morrison was told by Sheriff Gregor Murray: “The likelihood is of a custodial sentence.”
