Shrieks of excitement and howls of laughter filled Brechin’s streets on Saturday as organisers of the cartie racing scored another Halloween hit.
The fourth year of the event brought out a number of new entrants not all of whom enjoyed a rip-roaring debut on the tricky near-kilometre long course and with clearing afternoon weather the crowds also turned out.
BRAVO Brechin organise the event as part of a busy calendar that includes the summer Harley Davidson in the City motorcycle gathering.
The Halloween theme was much in evidence, with winged wonders, wide-mouthed monsters and even a coffin cartie hurtling down the course.
Gavin Brymer of BRAVO Brechin said the support of volunteers and backers, including main sponsor Alba Power, had again been crucial to the event’s success.
