“Having been burgled in the past, I know the devastating effect it can have on individuals and families, to lose things that are very precious to you.”
Perth city centre and areas of Fife were also included in the list.
The two-year survey of two million home insurance quotes found that Edinburgh postcodes dominated the list of places most likely to have made a claim for housebreaking, with nine out of the top 20 postal districts located in the city, closely followed by areas of Glasgow.
Scottish postcodes have significantly fewer housebreaking claims compared to England.
