Man taken to hospital after serious assault in Arbroath

Police are making inquiries after a serious assault in Arbroath today.

Local residents in Bridge Street reported a man screaming for help around 12.30pm.

A man of Asian appearance was later seen being led into an ambulance by paramedics, unsteady on his feet, with a severely swollen and bleeding face.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said two men were seen making off from the scene.
