Legion spokesman Ian Robb said: “A series of startling problems have once again appeared at the social club committee meeting, where a stringent tightening of belts has had to be applied.
“As a result of long deliberations the committee has decided it is necessary to call an extraordinary general meeting for all members of the social club.”
This meeting will take place on Monday March 23 at 7.30pm.
Mr Robb told The Courier matters on the agenda will include the necessity of reviewing annual subscriptions and a consideration of applying additional charges.
“In order to ensure that as many members as possible can be consulted, the executive committee is hoping there will be a good turnout for this meeting,” Mr Robb added.
Meanwhile, the branch is hoping for a boost from a coffee morning in the Columba Hall on Market Street on Saturday from 10am to noon.
Also this weekend, the Saturday dance will feature a St Patrick’s Day theme.
