A pair of young Angus football gamers were left red faced after the boys in blue knocked on their door during a noisy late night game.
Police were called to the house in Forfar after a neighbour complained about the racket coming from the exuberant teenagers as they fought an on-screen battle of the football game Fifa.
Several officers in two police vans and a car were called to the house in Glenogil Terrace around midnight on Sunday following the noise complaint.
Police knocked on the door telling them not to get so “worked up” after a nearby resident had made a call about the screaming coming from the house and delivered a yellow card to the pair.
The teenagers were tight-lipped on the weekend showdown, which had been described on social media as the “most intense game ever”.
One of the boys had tweeted: “Just got the police at my door for shouting at Fifa.”
His pal said police had come round about the two “screaming at Fifa”.
He added: “That was the most intense game of Fifa ever. Sweat is pouring off us.”
Police Scotland confirmed they attended at the property after receiving a call. A police spokeswoman said the boys were advised to keep the noise down.
She said: “On October 13 at 11.35pm, we received a noise complaint for an address on Glenogil Terrace. Two young lads had become carried away with their game.
“Officers attended the address and made them aware of the complaint. A resident in the street had called us. We advised the young lads to stop getting themselves so worked up about the game.”
The spokeswoman said that was the only action needed to be taken by officers to restore peace and quiet.
One resident said: “I saw two police vans and a police car on the street just after midnight. They were parked all along the road.”
