Drivers caught out through roadside vehicle checks near Forfar

Police carried out high-visibility roadside vehicle checks on the A90 at Parkford near Forfar last week.
Working with the Driver and Vehicle Service Agency 119 vehicles were stopped and checked.
Nine people were charged for having vehicle defects including offences relating to tyres, lights and insecure loads and will be reported to the procurator fiscal.
Six people were also reported for document offences.
A total of 16 drivers were warned in relation to a range of offences from incorrectly displayed number plates to cracked windscreens, while several vehicles were prohibited from being driven any further until the defects were rectified.
