Forfar swimming pool remains shut after broken glass fell into water

Forfar swimming pool will remain closed for at least another five days after broken glass fell into the water.
A broken light fitting fell into the pool on Friday and staff are working to clean the bottom after it was drained.
The fitness and health suite at The Vennel is open as normal.
A spokeswoman for Angus Leisure said: “The pool is now draining and the deep cleaning is continuing over the next few days.
“The staff are working hard at turning this problem around, we are trying to ensure the pool is made safe as soon as possible.“We have taken advice and have decided to begin the process of draining and cleaning the pool completely.
“We can assure our customers that our staff are working hard to remedy this issue as quickly and as effectively as possible, ensuring our high customer service standards are maintained.”
It is not the only incident to close an Angus leisure centre recently.
In February, Montrose’s multi-million-pound swimming pool was hit by two sewage waste pipe bursts in a fortnight.
