A Royal Marine who survived a Taliban rocket attack has been jailed for 15 months after a brutal assault on his wife.
Sergeant Wayne Harrison, 33, choked his wife, Lynn unconscious twice in the savage assault in the Sergeant’s mess at the RM Condor base, near Arbroath.
The serviceman also bit, slapped and threw his partner around in the January 2012 incident.
Harrison was sentenced by Sheriff Peter Paterson at Arbroath Sheriff Court following consideration of criminal justice and psychological reports previously called for.
The accused’s wife broke down in court following the announcement of the sentence.
