An Angus Council committee has dismissed two appeals over wind turbine applications.
R&A Renewables applied for a single turbine near Kalulu House by Forfar, which was refused in October last year.
The turbine was to have been 43 metres to blade tip at East Murthill.
Some 19 letters of representation were received, with 18 objecting to the application and one providing general comment.
A council officer noted: “I recognise the benefit of producing electricity by renewable means, but I do not consider that there is anything in government policy that suggests this should be at the expense of landscape or visual amenity of the area.”
Polar Energy (Netherton) Ltd had applied to build a turbine north east of Balnacake Farm, Aldbar, near Brechin, of 67m to blade tip.
The application was refused in December.
A council report commented: “The combination of the proposed location and height of the turbine would result in significant adverse impacts on the landscape.”
The development management review committee refused both appeals.
