Friends of a Tayside DJ who died in a tragic road accident have raised more hundreds of pounds for funeral costs in less than two hours.
Scott Williams from Arbroath was driving a Ford Focus on the Arbroath to Lunan road when it hit a wall and came to rest in a field.
The 33-year-old is survived by his four-year-old daughter Lexi.
And his friend Vicky Morrison was moved to raise money to give Scott “the send-off he deserves”.
She commented: “I feel so helpless and just want to do anything I can to help.
“I’m hoping to raise some money to put towards the funeral or headstone, or anything they need to give Scott the send-off he deserves.
“He was a true gent.”
Lexi’s mother Leeona Russell said her former partner “pushed his dreams to the limit”.
“He loved to put on a great show and make everyone happy,” she said.
“He doted on his daughter he was one of the most loving fathers you can get.
“We will make sure his memory lives on through her.
“He was the best person ever and everyone knew him he just loved making people happy.”
Scott was well-known on the nightclub scene across Tayside, regularly performing house and techno sets at venues like the Reading Rooms in Dundee and others across the area.
He also promoted other DJs under the banner of Epic Nites.
His Facebook page was flooded with people paying tribute and expressing their shock at the news.
The Rhumba Club, which regularly puts events on in Dundee and Perth, said: “We are in total shock at the tragic news Scott Williams is no longer with us.
“It is a sad, sad day for many of us as personal friends, but wider than that, the world of clubbing has also lost a talented DJ and fantastic character. Scott was one of the best guys around.”
Scott is thought to have been travelling alone and there is no indication that another vehicle was involved.
Police are still investigating the incident.
