Police in the Mearns are appealing for information following reports of racist material being left in public.
Inverbervie residents contacted local officers following the discovery of several stickers on village bus stops this week.
The stickers promoted a group called Creativity Alliance, bearing slogans such as “White people awake save the white race”.
The material has since been removed.
A flag bearing the group’s logo was also discovered at the Old Bridge and removed early on Thursday morning.
A spokeswoman for Grampian Division said: “Police Scotland has been made aware of public concerns over the reported content of some stickers on bus shelters throughout Inverbervie.
“This information is currently being assessed.
“Anyone with any information can contact police on 101 or speak to any officer.”
